How else am I going to drink my Pepsi and drive at the same time? The center console will hold a drink until I take a corner or hit the gas. Then spilling said drink all over this pristine 49 year old vinyl. A crotch hold is also feasible but requires dexterity better used for clutch and throttle usage. Then if things get action packed I could accidentally crush the cup between my thighs (thank you thigh master).

Do you not have 1/16" indents on the inside of your glove compartment lid meant for such things?

Actually no, and I kinda expected there to be some.

Probably just slightly too old for such luxury.

I’m pretty sure my parents had children so they had someone to hold the coffee while they drove.

I 3D printed a cup holder that secures itself by having a bit that slides between the bottom back cushions of a seat. I could print you one and send it to you. You’d have to move your Ruffles though.

You’d have to be careful with paper cups but in my Jaguar my coffee cup fits neatlyin the corner between the seatbelt buckle, the bolster and the center console. Suboptimal but it works, looks like it might work for you too. It helps the center is pretty tall . I gotta work on converting the ash trays (4)

Monday july 3, 2017. a nice sunny day 3 /4 of the office was going to be out, highway will be empty, I thought ‘ I’m gonna take the 911 to work’
Get in 3 /4 of the office was out . except a big client was com ing in that involved most of the remaining folks.
A manager comes over, “ you need to pick up the luch order.” “me” yeah you, what about ..... (runs through list of names in my head, they’re all either out or in the meeting.) dammit.
So i go over, grab the order, get to the 911
dammit.
I had to put the two trays of drinks inthe center, and then unbeknownst to the group pile the wrapped sandwiches, and chips o n my floor to hold them in the center. Then everso carefully drive without jerking too much.

I mean, there’s a reason beer was kept in the bottom drawers in the fridge too.

I just found a slightly modified version that should work on my claw foot tub, so thanks for the suggestion!

You know it was legal to drink and drive in Montana until like 2000 or something.

Yeah but I grew up in VA, where driving might as well be illegal.

I have a 73 Plymouth with indents in the glove compartment door, I will have to check one of my 65’s to see if they have them as well.

I keep my drink between my legs or sitting beside me on the bench seat.
Those buffalo Ruffles are great, I was dipping them in bleu cheese at a party over the weekend, it made a good pairing in my inebriated mind.
